At the trailer launch event of her upcoming film Article 370, Yami Gautam and husband Aditya Dhar made a heartfelt announcement: she is five-and-a-half-months pregnant. Amidst the buzz surrounding her pregnancy, Yami opened up about the challenges and joys of shooting while expecting.

Speaking about her pregnancy, Aditya Dhar expressed, “This film is a family affair. My brother was there, my wife was there, and there is a baby on its way. It was an amazing time, the way the film happened, the way we got to know about the baby.”

Yami also shared insights into her pregnancy journey and the experience of shooting while expecting. She remarked, “It was mentally draining. I could write a thesis on it. There are so many questions, and the firsts are always challenging. If you ask me about motherhood and everything coming together, I really don’t know what I would have done had Aditya not been there by my side, and Lokesh bhaiyaa, everybody…

“There was rigorous training involved for the film. You want to be cautious, careful, and I am thankful to all the doctors who were supervising this secretly. We were mostly left with the talking portions (by the time I was expecting a baby) so we could manage. But this felt surreal because the baby was also a part of it. Some of the inspiration also came from how I saw my mother work her way through,” she shared.

Yami and Aditya tied the knot in June 2021 after dating for over two years. They first met on the sets of Uri: The Surgical Strike, where Yami played a lead role, and the film was helmed by Aditya.

Set against the backdrop of Article 370, the film is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and stars Yami Gautam and Priyamani in leading roles. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and his brother Lokesh Dhar, the action-packed political thriller promises to delve deep into the “confidential chain of events” that led to the unprecedented outcome of rendering Article 370 ineffective. Scheduled for a worldwide cinema release on February 23, Yami Gautam’s last appearance was in the film OMG 2 alongside Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi.
